Drawing Lessons From Creation

SA12 - Learn More About Jehovah Through His Creation

In the heart of a bustling city, where even minor buildings stood as skyscrapers that reached towards the clouds and the noise of traffic consume the air, three children named Lily, Alex, and Maya found themselves frustrated by what many consider, the concrete jungle.

Unbeknownst to them, the antidote to feelings of annoyance, impatience, and sometimes the slight tinge of anger was to reconnect to the natural world. Though their surroundings offered little evidence of nature's wonders, their curious hearts sought answers that the carefully constructed four-way busy intersections, tall buildings, and digital flashing lights couldn’t provide, a deeper understanding of Jehovah's wisdom and care.

One sunny afternoon, as the children explored their neighborhood park, they stumbled upon a small patch of greenery, a tiny oasis amidst the stone metropolis. With excitement sparkling in their eyes, they bent down to examine the blades of grass and delicate flowers that stubbornly thrived in between the cracks of the paved pathway.

As they crouched in wonder, Lily noticed a stream of tiny ants, each tirelessly carrying a heavy load many times their weight. Amazed by their determination, she turned to her friends and said, "Wow! Look at this! If Jehovah can provide for the ants and helps them carry their burdens, surely He can take care of us too."

Inspired by this observation, the children began to see Jehovah's wisdom and care reflected in so many of the other extraordinary features they found all around. They marveled at the intricate webs spun by spiders, realizing that Jehovah had equipped even the smallest creatures with unique abilities to thrive in their environments, including giving them the ability to capture prey to survive. They observed birds building nests with precision and dedication, understanding that Jehovah provided for their needs also.

Back to school the following day, they had some regret that their busy schedules left them with little time to explore nature, but the children refused to let the barriers of their inner-city lives hinder their quest for knowledge about Jehovah. Determined to learn more, they borrowed a magnifying glass, a tool that could unlock the tiny hidden gems, unseen by the human eye. With this new tool in hand, they set out on a mission to explore every nook and cranny of their urban habitat.

One day, while basking in the warmth of the sun's rays, the children discovered that the magnifying glass had another remarkable ability. By focusing the sunlight through the glass, they created a small but comforting flame, realizing that even in the heart of the city, they could harness the immense power of the sun, a gentle reminder of Jehovah's provision and His ability to care for all His creations, as the sun provides needed energy that shines on each one, young and old.

Through their observations and experiences, the children learned valuable lessons about the qualities of Jehovah, found in nature. They discovered that the natural world served as a teacher, imparting wisdom, and guidance through its intricate design. They noticed the balance of ecosystems, the cycles of life, and the interconnectedness of all living things, testifying to Jehovah's wisdom and His grand orchestration of creation.

The children encouraged others to embark on their own journey of discovery. They organized nature walks, inviting friends and neighbors to pause and marvel at the wonders around them. They even got permission to start a small, raised bed garden in an abandoned parking lot, bringing a touch of the phenomena of the natural physical world to their hardscaped, man-made city dwellings. Through these acts, they ignited a spark of curiosity in others and awakened the desire to uncover countless lessons waiting to be learned.

As the three children continued their exploration, their hearts overflowed with gratitude for the extraordinary features found all around them. They understood that by observing creation, they were unlocking a vault of understanding, lessons that could guide them through life's challenges and remind them of their Creator's boundless love.

Beyond the frantic anxiety of the city's flurry of activity, Lily, Alex, and Maya found peace and a connection to the natural world. Their journey taught them that no matter where we live, there is wisdom and beauty waiting to be discovered. Through the careful observation of creation, we can catch glimpses of Jehovah's character and draw closer to Him, finding comfort, guidance, and a profound appreciation for His limitless care for all life.

Reminded me of life growing up in the city, we did a lot of exploring in nature when ever we got the chance, life was much simpler then. Really enjoyed reading the story. Gonna share with my grands.
