SA17 - Jehovah Will Help You Deal With Life’s Uncertainties
In a serene section of a bustling city, lived Paula, a woman renowned for her unwavering faith and compassionate nature. However, beneath her gentle smile, Paula carried a heavy burden. Just when she believed her once-terminal illness had been conquered and her remission secured, life dealt her a cruel blow. It felt as if she had, once again, been handed an unfair card, leaving her questioning why she continually faced such unyielding trials.
One day, as she sat in her small, dimly lit room, her heart burdened with discouragement, Paula whispered a prayer. "Jehovah, why must I bear these difficulties alone? What have I done to deserve such a challenging life?"
Silence filled the room, enveloping Paula in doubt and confusion. She pondered the disparity of witnessing individuals inflicting harm upon themselves and others, seemingly untouched by consequences, while she, earnestly striving to live righteously, carried an immense burden. It seemed as if those around her had been spared the trials that weighed upon her so heavily. Unbeknownst to her, tears welled in her eyes, streaming down her cheeks, as she sought solace amidst overwhelming despair.
She thought, just when she had triumphed, when she had cleared the final hurdle, the shadows of her past illness loomed larger than ever. Just when she believed she couldn't be thwarted, when her opportunity for victory arose, the fears of her past grew stronger, matching the mighty force of the wind. As unease washed over her, she found herself alone, her once certain life no longer present. The life that had seemed so sure now wavered with doubt, offering no clear direction.
Enveloped by emotions, Paula momentarily forgot that feelings of discouragement were not uncommon among Jehovah's faithful servants. Many before her had experienced similar emotions and faced their own share of challenges. The righteous were not exempt from life's hardships. It was a realization echoed throughout the ages.
In her vulnerability, a glimmer of hope flickered within Paula's mind. She recalled a scripture she had read, its words etched deep in her heart. "Many are the hardships of the righteous one, but Jehovah rescues him from them all." (Psalm 34:19)
As she pondered those words, a sense of peace washed over Paula. Jehovah, in His loving kindness, had not forsaken her. The difficulties she faced were not a punishment or a reflection of her worthiness. They were simply part of life's intricate mosaic, pieced together with purpose and meaning.
Jehovah, in His infinite wisdom, granted His faithful ones a clear understanding of the realities of life in this world. He did not shield them from its trials but provided them with the strength and resilience needed to navigate through storms.
With renewed faith, Paula wiped away her tears and lifted her eyes toward heaven. She realized Jehovah was not distant or indifferent to her struggles. He was a loving Father ready to rescue her from every hardship she encountered.
From that day forward, Paula embraced a new perspective. She shifted her focus from the weight of her difficulties to the sustaining power of Jehovah. In every trial, she found solace knowing He stood by her side, guiding her steps and giving her the endurance to persevere.
Difficulties would find their way into her life, testing her faith and resolve. Yet, she remembered she was not alone in this struggle. Jehovah, in His boundless love, rescued her from trials that threatened to overwhelm her. In times of distress, it was crucial to hold onto hope and remember that these trials were temporary. The Most High, in His infinite love, would never allow His faithful servants to endure suffering indefinitely.
Therefore, she patiently awaited Jehovah's certain relief, knowing He would bring an end to her tribulations in due time. She found comfort in the awareness that her feelings of discouragement were shared by many of Jehovah's faithful servants who had walked a similar path long before her. And she continued to focus not on her hardships but on Jehovah's sustaining power (Philippians 4:13), allowing her to endure and overcome with unwavering faith and joy in her heart.

When I was really sick I tried really hard to do what God’s Word says especially when I was going through a lot of pain. It’s surprising but even in the middle of all that pain I learned some important things. I learned that it’s important to be patient to keep going even when things are tough and to trust in Jehovah completely. I don’t want to act mean like some other people who are suffering too. Instead I want to be kind and understanding to everyone I meet because I don’t know what they might be going through.
This story was truly uplifting. It reminded me that we don’t develop love for Jehovah by ourselves, but rather through all the challenging times, we come to realize that Jehovah has been right there beside us, holding our hand. He is not only our God and Father but also our dear Friend. We find ourselves in the most wonderful place—wrapped inside His loving arms.
Excellent story Mark! You had my attention from the start of this story. We all often carry a burden unknown to others. I felt every emotion of Paula. Had a lump in my throat and something in my eye.
Oh wow Mark! You really captured the feeling so well, I’ve been there and yes, so was Jehovah to see me through to the other side. we can rely on him, Jehovah will sustain us!🙏🏿
