SA31 - What Jehovah Has
Done to Rescue Sinful Humans
In this issue of The Watchtower, the articles explore how Jehovah has actively helped humans combat sin, emphasizing his love for us and the arrangements he made, including the sacrifice of his Son, to offer hope and eternal life. The discussion includes understanding genuine repentance, how congregations should handle unrepentant sinners, and the loving approach to those removed from the congregation, illustrating that with Jehovah's support, victory over sin is possible.
-
God's Love: “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son.” - John 3:16.
Jehovah takes the initiative to help us battle sin and offers the hope of eternal life free from it.
Issue Overview:
The issue features five articles addressing:
- Jehovah's Arrangement: How he helps humans combat sin.
- Genuine Repentance: Understanding and assisting sinners in repentance.

Sin as an Enemy:

How Did Jehovah Offer Hope To Sinful Humans?
-
Hope Offered by Jehovah:
Jehovah has helped humanity fight sin for 6,000 years out of love. He desires for us to live forever (Romans 6:23). -
The First Humans:
Adam and Eve were created for happiness but faced consequences after sinning, which illustrates why Jehovah hates sin—it separates us from Him (Isaiah 59:2). -
Hope Pronounced:
After sin entered the world, Jehovah offered hope through a future offspring who would crush Satan's influence (Genesis 3:15).
How Did Sinful Humans in Bible Times Gain Jehovah’s Favor?
- Abel was the first to show faith by offering sacrifices, pleasing Jehovah (Genesis 4:4).
-
Abraham's Faith:
His willingness to sacrifice Isaac teaches us about Jehovah’s love and sacrifice (Genesis 22:1-18). - The Law of Moses required sacrifices, foreshadowing the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus (Leviticus 4:27-29; 17:11).
How Did Jesus Come to The Rescue?
-
Jesus as the Solution:
In the first century, John the Baptist identified Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29), marking a solid hope for humanity. -
Jesus’ Ministry:
Jesus focused on those burdened by sin, showing compassion and empathy, and offering forgiveness (Luke 7:37-50; Matthew 9:12-13). -
Ultimate Sacrifice:
Jesus willingly faced betrayal and execution. Jehovah experienced immense pain in allowing this for our sake (John 3:16). -
Jehovah's Love Proved:
Jesus’ sacrifice demonstrates how much Jehovah loves humanity, proving He wants to help us win the fight against sin (1 John 4:9, 10). -
Receiving Forgiveness:
The ransom sacrifice enables the forgiveness of sins. Repentance is essential to combat sin and draw closer to God (Matthew 3:1, 2; 4:17).

Thank you!
Thank you for your hard work! Love these summaries.
This article beautifully explains how Jehovah’s love is demonstrated through the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
We had the circuit this weekend, and had such a great time. The Bible clearly shows that sin leads to death, but through the ransom, we are given the hope of eternal life. This article broke it down so simply!
