Mature Christian Women
After spending some time alone in the garden of Eden, Adam, Jehovah observed: “It is not good for the man to continue by himself. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.” (Genesis 2:18) Despite Adam's perfection, fulfilling the Creator's intention required another being. To address this, Jehovah created woman. There is nothing demeaning in Jehovah’s describing the woman as “a complement.” With her distinct mental, emotional, and physical attributes, she stood as a fitting counterpart, a fulfilling complement to man.
A complement refers to something that completes or enhances another thing, making it whole or perfect. It signifies a harmonious combination where each part contributes to the overall excellence or effectiveness of the whole.
Everyone in this town knows the quaint little café named "Harmony Brews"? This coffee shop is famous for the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans that fill the air, offering a refreshing invitation for the weary who seek comfort in a cup of warmth. Among the regular patrons of this cozy establishment were two inseparable friends, Claire and Amelia.
Claire, an early riser with an insatiable love for the bitter taste of coffee, believed that a day without her morning brew was like navigating a ship without a compass. Amelia, on the other hand, preferred her coffee sweetened and mellowed, a preference that drew her to the creamy embrace of half-and-half.
Their friendship was a beautiful blend of contrasts, much like the coffee and cream they so dearly cherished. Claire, with her sharp wit and intense energy, often found herself lost in the complex network of her own thoughts. Amelia, with her calm demeanor and gentle nature, was the steady anchor that kept her grounded.
One brisk morning, as they sat in their favorite corner of the café, Claire noticed a hint of fatigue lingering in Amelia's eyes. With her mother's recent illness, she knew that Amelia was having some restless nights due to the worry about the results of recent test, she wondered how these personal stressors were weighing on her mind. Sensing her need for a pick-me-up, Claire ordered their usual: a strong, black coffee for herself and a creamy latte for Amelia.
As they sipped their respective drinks, Claire couldn't help but marvel at the harmony between their contrasting choices. Her coffee, bold and robust, danced on her palate with each sip, awakening her senses with its intensity. Meanwhile, Amelia's latte, smooth and velvety, provided a comforting embrace, its creamy sweetness tempering the bitterness of the coffee.
Amelia savored each sip, her taste buds ablaze with the delightful interplay of creamy richness and robust espresso. And as she clutched the mug tightly and sipped, then squinted her eyes in delight, she exchanged a smile with Claire, which expressed her great satisfaction that this simple act of adding cream to her coffee, exploded a symphony of flavors that transcended the simple exquisiteness of the ordinary.
In that moment, they realized the beauty of their friendship mirrored the synergy between coffee and cream. Just as the bitter notes of the coffee were softened and enhanced by the cream, so too were Claire's fiery character and Amelia's gentle intellectual energy complemented by their differences.
They sat in pleasant silence, savoring the harmony of their contrasting tastes, Claire and Amelia knew that together, like coffee and cream, they were different yet perfectly suited as great friends, each offering a view and perspective that the other couldn’t and therefore, enriching each other's life in ways they never thought possible.
And so, in the warm embrace of friendship and caffeine, they found comfort in the knowledge that no matter how different they may be, they would always balance each other out, making every moment they shared a perfect blend of harmony and contrast.

What excellent encouragement for young women to move towards Christian maturity. We really enjoyed the questions on selecting a mate. 😍
Lovely story. Can’t wait for SA53, so good for young ones to reach out for extra opportunities in Jehovah’s service.
Thank you for this story, if you are a coffee drinker, you can really relate, and this made it even more clear how Eve was a compliment to Adam? We are a compliment for our husbands, and it makes us feel special. 💖
Thank you for your website and emails.
The WT of 1956 The Divine Origin of Marriage, explains how a woman is a complement to her husband
“God had now divided the feminine characteristics from Adam and put them in this woman or Ish·shahʹ and thus produced the human sexes. In the fatherly blessing that he now gave them as a married couple he set before them the work that he authorized them to carry on together”. So each person is incomplete until they are united in marriage as Jehovah intended
“Harmony in Contrast” is a beautiful story, I loved reading about the power of a complementary relationship, using the analogy of coffee and cream to depict the connection between two friends. I also wanted to point out that the root word to complement is complete, Eve completed Adam, Jehovah made her perfectly suited for being her husband Adam’s wife.
